Well done Ashleigh for replying. I take your point about having nowhere to go. But why go anywhere? Just stay in with some friends and away from other folks' property. Or stay in and practise your spelling! if you want people to understand you, you must learn to write properly. Have you read back your comment? If you cannot understand it, what hope anyone else?

Badly-behaved kids - parents fault!
04 Nov 2004

In response to previous comment, you cannot expect the police or community leaders to sort out other folks kids. The parents themselves must do something about it. I suspect the parents themselves are as much to blame as the kids. Too many parents are more interested in themselves and are not prepared to make sacrifices to raise their families. So instead of being at home during the day, they go out to work because they don't like being hard up, then they spend their money on night's out for themselves getting drunk and eating food in restaurants. Kids nowadays see so little of their parents, is it any wonder they go off and do their own thing and have no respect for their elders? I would say though that this comment is about parenting in general and not specific to Mastrick. In fact parents in more affluent areas are often worse for abandoning the responsibility of child-rearing.

An old-fashioned guy who still believes a mother's place is in the family home.

Kept in by the Kids!!!
08 Oct 2004

I remember growing up in Mastrick in the seventies and it was the adults keeping the kids in for getting into bother etc... But nowadays you can't go out at night without seeing groups of teenagers hanging around, under age drinking and making a general nuisance of themselves. I'm not unrealistic, I know there isn't much for them to do but does that mean they have to act like out and out yobs. When will Grampian Police and the Community Leaders take a stand on this issue? Mastrick is a generally nice place to live, but these numpties are giving the area a bad name.
