Aberdeen Football Club (AFC)
Aberdonian.com is AGAINST the demolition of Pittodrie, and its subsequent replacement
with a community facility which the club will lease. Aberdonian.com believes this will
jeopardise the long-term security of Aberdeen Football Club.

| Information | Aberdeen Football Club has,
since its foundation in 1903, developed a reputation, both nationally and internationally,
as one of the UK's best known clubs. Aberdeen Football Club competes in the Scottish
Premier League against the likes of Glasgow Celtic and Rangers, Edinburgh's Heart of
Midlothian and Hibernian, and Dundee's two teams Dundee and Dundee United, to name but a
few. On the field the Club has a long history of success, both within Scotland and Europe, with the 1980's particularly being an era of unparalleled achievements. Their greatest achievement was undoubtedly winning the European Cup Winners Cup in 1983 beating the mighty Real Madrid of Spain 2-1 in the final. |
"The Northern Lights" as sung at Pittodrie
The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen,
Mean home sweet home to me.
The Northern Lights of Aberdeen,
Are what I long to see.
I've been a supporter all of my life and many a sight I've seen,
God speed the day, when I'm on my way,
To my home at Pittod..er ..ie.
When I was a lad, a tiny wee lad,
My mother said to me.
Come see the Dons, the glorious Dons,
Down at Pittod..er ..ie.
She called them the heavenly dancers,
The best in defence and attack.
I'll never forget that wonderful sight,
They made the heavens brightRepeat from start
